WWW

So this is what's all going on. The 'D Team' is reuniting to bring you as much kick ass material as possible. I'm resuming my role as webmaster and taking on a new one as a host. The webdesign is relatively temporary and is a current cross between 4am and Dominion's old designs. Forgive the recycling of old material, but we're all pretty excited to get this moving and there is a lot to be done. The back end code has to be worked on, the forum has to be customized and fit into this nifty little template. We're moving off of phpBB onto SMF as a forum backend, which means a lot of the code that was previously worked into phpBB has to be redone. Thankfully about half of the code for phpBB will NOT have to be redone because SMF already has most of our custom features integrated by default.  This means that updating the forum will be less painful and so it will be easier to keep up with security updates, etc.

Anyway, here's what to expect in the near future:

  • Customizing the forum
  • Hooking up the archive system for the new comic
  • Modifying the old backend to allow quick and easy cross posting between sites (which means more updates on more fronts)
  • Getting 4am (now going as Insomnia) actually updated and running well again.
  • Finalizing the archive system and launching it for public use.

The archive system was previously known as buzzNav 2.0, but due to my lack of involvement with buzzComix since its launch and not using ANY of buzzNav 1.0's code it will no longer be going under that name.  More details regarding this to come as the other items are checked off the list

So that's the boring crap from the nerdy guy. Big Evil will be rolling in to update with some actual interesting shit as soon as some of this boring stuff gets out of the way and he can actually use the site for posting.

Say, does this mean that we have to find Darkstar for gay jokes?

Ahem... full respect to you guys for doing the art for the disciples of zoldon but what happened to the last couple of months?  You weren't even on msn or anything! (Matt)  Is this reaper comic brand new or have you been working on it in secret for the last however long it has been?

I got bored and wanted a writer for a series to begin immedietly.  Halo got bored and I guess Sloo got bored at the same time.  I work with Ellen so I asked if she wanted to help, too.  Been off of MSNand AIM mostly for the last couple of months because I felt like taking a break from living in the world through a computer screen.
